Green County VINELink Coverage
Kentucky's VINE program is run by the state Attorney General. The Kentucky Attorney General VINE page presents it as a free, automated service. It covers local jails, adult correctional facilities, and some other state systems. It runs around the clock online and by phone at 1-800-511-1670.
The state page leaves one gap. It does not say whether Green County Jail feeds its booking data in. No county SAVIN page makes that claim. No facility statement does either. Test a Green County or Taylor County name in the system first. If nothing turns up, call the jail directly. A statewide program description never guarantees that a fresh local booking will appear.
The official state policy page shows how Kentucky frames the service.

The state page frames VINE as notification infrastructure, not as a Green County booking feed.
Check a Green County Custody Record
VINELink suits a search for one person you already know. Enter only enough detail to separate similar names, and keep private information private. The steps below walk through it.
- Open VINELink and select Kentucky.
- Choose the offender search. Enter a partial or full legal name, or the jail or DOC identifier when known.
- Review close matches carefully. Compare the facility and custody details without publishing personal identifiers.
- If duplicate local-jail and Kentucky DOC records appear, review both. They can reflect different parts of the custody path.
- If no match appears, confirm the name and receiving facility with the Green County sheriff or jailer, then check Taylor County when the arresting agency identifies it as the destination.
For urgent questions, call. The sheriff's number is 270-932-5641. The Green County jailer's county line is 270-405-0677. Taylor County Detention Center lists 270-789-1909. A phone call beats refreshing a screen when a release or transfer is time-sensitive. The Kentucky offender-search route opens the state selection and search screen.

The neutral search capture shows the route without displaying a person or booking-photo gallery.
Green County VINELink Result Fields
A VINE result settles custody questions only. It does not supply a police report, charges, a booking photo, or a court record, and the fields shown depend on the facility.
| Possible result | Meaning and limit |
|---|---|
| Name or offender identifier | Helps distinguish records; confirm identity before acting. |
| Custody status | System status based on the latest facility update. |
| Current facility | Jail or institution reported by the source system. |
| Facility address or phone | Contact route for direct verification. |
| Release status or date | May appear after release where supplied. |
| Notification option | Registration for supported changes, not every minor record edit. |
Do not expect a booking photo from VINE. Green County posts no online roster photo policy either. To seek a booking image, request that specific record from the booking custodian under Kentucky open-records law. A later state DOC photo in KOOL reflects state custody and may not match the original jail photo.
Register Green County Custody Alerts
Registering a record means fewer repeat searches. Kentucky offers notifications by phone and email. Alerts can cover release, transfer from a county jail, escape, and certain hearing or custody changes. Each alert still depends on the agency reporting the event first.
- Select “Notify Me of Status Changes” on the correct record.
- Choose an available phone or email delivery method and enter the destination privately.
- Create or retain the PIN used to manage the registration or recover access.
- Confirm the registration prompts. If local-jail and DOC records both exist, Kentucky guidance recommends registering on both.
- Keep the jail’s direct number available because electronic delivery can lag or fail.
Registration attaches to one record. It does not follow every Green County arrest. Shared names cause mix-ups, so use the jail or DOC number plus the facility to make sure you track the right person. The VINELink home and registration route works on a session basis.

The registration controls appear only after an in-session search and selection, so a static deep link may change.
Kentucky VINE Alert Timing
An alert reports an event. It never causes one. A transfer can occur before the jail's update reaches VINE. The phone call or email can lag further still. Kentucky designed the program for notification, not instant tracking. The state promises no same-minute updates for Green County.
Someone arrested must be booked before any custody record exists. Green County publishes no booking cutoff or upload schedule. If the person does not appear, ask the arresting agency where the booking happened. Green County arrestees have been lodged at Taylor County Detention Center in at least one KSP case. Searching by county name alone can miss the right facility.
For same-day booking questions, start local. The Arrests Last 24 Hours page lays out the local phone and record-request options. Use VINELink to supplement that check, not replace it.
Green County Custody States Compared
Custody search tools look alike but answer different stage questions. Pick the source by custody state.
| Stage | Best source | What may be missing |
|---|---|---|
| Just arrested or processing | Arresting agency and receiving jail | VINELink entry may not exist yet |
| Held in a county jail | Facility and VINELink where data is supplied | Full arrest report and disposition |
| Released or transferred | VINE alert, facility, and booking record | Current-custody screens can roll off |
| KY DOC custody or supervision | KOOL and DOC/VINE records | Original local booking file |
| Federal or immigration custody | BOP or ICE locator | Not covered by Kentucky VINE |
| Court outcome | Green County clerk and court file | VINE is not a disposition source |
A police report stays with the arresting agency. Release does not erase the booking record. Ask each record's custodian for the precise copy you need.
VINELink Does Not Cover Federal Custody
Kentucky VINE does not reach federal custody. Federal prisoners belong to the Bureau of Prisons locator. ICE holds go through the ICE detainee locator. A blank VINE result cannot rule out BOP, ICE, pretrial USMS custody, or release. It also cannot rule out a local transfer. Match the system to the agency involved. The BOP record-availability explanation covers the federal-only scope and its limits.

The federal policy page shows why a state VINE search cannot settle a federal question. Each locator covers its own agencies. That boundary is structural, not a search failure. Knowing which system holds the person saves hours of dead-end queries.
Confirm Green County Alert Results
An alert can arrive at any hour. Read it slowly before you act on it. The event type and the source facility tell you most of what you need. Timing matters. Call the facility when a transfer touches transportation, personal safety, or a court process. One caution: a transfer is not the same as release. The person may simply have moved. It could be another jail or state custody in Green County.
Wrong record? Keep the event details that are not sensitive. Then reach out to the facility that filed the alert. VINE support also answers questions at 1-800-511-1670. For an arrest or booking copy, go to the sheriff, Greensburg Police, KSP, or the receiving jail. For a final charge outcome, use the Green County court file. The Green County recent-arrest hub keeps those record paths separate.
